SAR Teams Rescues Stranded Hiker on Blue Ridge Parkway
On Sunday, December 14th, multiple SAR teams were dispatched to Augusta County and conducted a 10-hour rescue for a hiker who was stranded on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the cold, freezing weather.
Because the exact location of the hiker wasn't known from the initial text, Nelson County dispatch notified the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) for a search and rescue team.
