Search Launched For Missing College Student in the Dominican Republic
Just last week, a search for a missing 20-year-old student from the University of Pittsburgh was launched after she and a group of friends traveled to the Dominican Republic and were at the Punta Cana beach on Wednesday night. The woman and another person stayed behind while the rest of the group left. It is believed the woman and the other person went for a swim where they faced a huge wave coming at them, and authorities believed she might have drowned.
Konanki was last spotted at the beach on surveillance video around 4:15 a.m. Thursday, the Dominican Republic Public Ministry told ABC News. Read more here
It looks like SAR teams will continue their search for the missing woman. If new information becomes available, we will update everyone on this case. We send our thoughts and prayers to Sudiksha Konaki's family and friends. Please be safe out there, everyone!
