
One Snowmobiler Killed After Radium Avalanche
On Sunday, the Columbia Valley Search and Rescue recovered the body of one of the snowmobilers after three snowmobilers were up on the Thunderwater Lake area where one of the individuals triggered an avalanche, killing one person.
"A cohesive slab of 50 to 100 cm of snow overlies a weak upper section of the snowpack, consisting of various layers of surface hoar crystals, faceted grains, and hard melt-freeze crusts," Conlan explained. Read more here
