Massive Earthquake Claims Fifty Five Lives in Japan
A massive magnitude of 7.6 struck Japan's Wajima followed by a tsunami on New Year's Day killing 55 people as SAR teams continued to search for any missing survivors
Kishida said some 3,000 rescuers were finding it difficult to reach the northern tip of the peninsula where helicopter surveys had discovered many fires and widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure. Read more here
