Lost Boaters Rescued By SAR Team in Stone County
On Saturday night, Stone County Sheriff's Department along with other volunteers rescued a group of boaters after they were stranded and couldn't find their way back home where search teams spent four hours searching for them near Perk Beach.
Stone County Sheriff Todd Stewart adds this is the third instance over the last few weeks where boaters have gotten stuck on Red Creek after dark. Read more here
Great work to the Stone County Sheriff's Dept and other volunteers for their hard work and dedication to finding the boaters. We hope the boaters are doing well. If you ever get lost on a boat, please make sure to remain calm until authorities have found you to be rescued more importantly, make sure to pack a bag of emergency essentials in case the search takes several hours, and also, please make sure to wear a life jacket as well.
