ATV Rider Rescued After Suffering Injuries in Sunshine Bay Recreation
The Castlegar Search and Rescue team came to the aid of a woman on Sunday after she was riding on her ATV wearing a helmet, and suddenly was thrown off her vehicle at least 10 feet down on an embankment in Sunshine Bay Recreation, suffering from multiple injuries.
The signal was coming from the Sunshine Bay Forest Recreation Site, which is west of Castlegar and north of Deer Park. Because of the remote location and the terrain, Castlegar RCMP contacted Castlegar Search and Rescue (CSAR) for assistance. Read more here
Special thanks to the Castlegar SAR team for coming to the woman's rescue. We hope she is recovering well from her injuries and also sidenote, it's a good thing she wore a helmet! Please be safe out there!
