Stranded Family Rescued By Clackamas Deputies
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Deputies rescued a family of six in Government Camp, OR on Wednesday after they got stranded in snow while embarking on an 8-mile hike.
"Even with the great weather, we still want people to remember it was winter; it's just now spring," said Ross Clemson, spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. "You could still face some super dangerous, hazardous conditions out here, so make sure to come prepared. Do some research before coming out here." Read more here
Great work to the Clackamas Deputies for rescuing the family. As Ross Clemson mentioned, please research before adventuring out to the mountains where it's still snowing even though the seasons have changed. Please check the weather, and pack an emergency essentials bag like a warm blanket and water for example. We hope the family is doing well and let this be a reminder to others to ALWAYS BE PREPARED! More importantly, please be safe out there!
