
Sailors Rescued After Being Stranded During Hurricane Debby
SAR Teams rescued two sailors after their boat got lost amid the sea amid Hurricane Debby. The two were set to sail from Key West to Tarpon Springs.
A spokesperson for Coast Guard Detachment Tampa Bay told USA TODAY Monday that after crews were alerted of the missing boaters Saturday, they continued to monitor the situation and a NOAA aircrew was able to establish radio communication with the boaters, who reported they were adrift, around 9 a.m. Sunday. Great work to the SAR crews for coming to the sailors' rescue. I can't imagine being stranded in the ocean during a storm while waiting for SAR teams to rescue me, but we're glad the sailors are rescued and safe. As always, please be safe out there!
