
SAR Teams Rescue Two People in Separate Rescues in Jeff Park Wilderness Area
SAR teams were on a roll as they rescued two people from separate incidents where in the first rescue, a 23-year-old biker from Australia got stuck on a 4ft snowdrift while biking near Hawk Mountain while the second rescue was with a 28-year-old woman who got stuck in snowy conditions for two days while hiking on Pacific Coast Trail.
According to Lucas, search and rescue operations tend to increase in the wintertime due to unpredictable snow or weather conditions. On average, they see about 1,000 SAR mission a year.

Great work to the SAR teams for finding the two people and working very hard to get people back to safety. It's important to build a shelter for yourself just in case it takes a while for SAR teams to locate you like what the 23-year-old biker did. We hope both individuals are doing well.
