SAR Teams Recovers Body of Missing Kayaker in Sand Island
The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office along with the Life Flight Network has found the body of a missing 19-year-old kayaker on Friday after she went kayaking in North Bay on the 16th and went missing sometime on the night of the 16th or early morning of the 17th where her boyfriend spent hours trying to contact the authorities for help.
Life jackets, having a float plan — someone ashore who knows where you’re going and when you plan to return — and keeping a method of communication safe in a waterproof bag can all help prevent tragedy while on the water, Schrader said. Read more here
