SAR Team Rescues Injured Woman From Wyoming Avalanche

The Teton County SAR teams and other volunteers have rescued an injured woman after she was caught in an avalanche 1,500 feet down from Prospector's Mountain in Wyoming. She was with 4 other skiers and they were also caught in the avalanche, however, only 3 were able to stop themselves from getting bombarded by the avalanche while the other skier fell 500 feet down from the mountain.

The volunteers were able to find the woman and secure her to a fixed rope connected to a helicopter for a short flight to a waiting ambulance.  Read more here

According to the article, there is no word on what injuries the woman has, but we hope and pray the woman recovers well as we wish the other skiers the same as well.  Special thanks to the Teton County SAR teams and others for rescuing the skiers from the avalanche. To add a side note, when you or a group are traveling to the mountains, please make sure to always wear warm, comfortable clothes and gear, and also, please stay away from areas that may cause an avalanche. And as always, please be safe everyone!
