
SAR Team From Whidbey Island Rescued Two People in Separate Searches
Over the weekend, the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Team had their hands full as they rescued two people in separate search with the first search, they rescued a 25-year-old woman who suffered a leg injury after a fall on Silver Star Mountain while in the second search, a 48-year-old woman sustained an injury on the Pacific Crest Trail.
The Navy SAR unit operates three MH-60S helicopters from NAS Whidbey Island as search and rescue/medical evacuation (SAR/MEDEVAC) platforms for the EA-18G aircraft as well as other squadrons and personnel assigned to the installation. Read more here
