Man Found Safe After Failing To Meet With Friends in Southland
A man was found safe by the LandSAR and the Southland Police after he went on a solo walk in the Southland area and was stuck between a gorge along the river where he failed to meet his friends who also came along with him. Luckily, he has no injuries.
The tramper was well equipped for a night out, however concerns increased when he failed to return to the designated rendezvous point this morning, Thursday 19 October. Read more here
Special thanks to the Southland Police and the LandSAR volunteers for rescuing the man. We hope this is a lesson to always make sure you stick with your group when adventuring out in the recreational areas and especially, pack your survival essentials in case you and your group get lost. Please be safe out there!
