
Lost Hiker Rescued on Zupjok Peak
Early Wednesday morning, the Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue team rescued a hiker who went hiking on Tuesday and got lost on the trail near the Zupjok Peak area. Luckily, she came prepared while the SAR team was on the way to rescue her.
First, and foremost, we acknowledge how well prepared the hiker was for an overnight emergency," Hope SAR said via social media. "She had a tent and was prepared to hunker down and wait for daylight to complete the hike. Read more here
First and foremost, we are thankful for HVSAR and other volunteers for their amazing rescue of the hiker. We also commend the woman for being prepared in case she got lost, and in this case, she did, coming well-equipped. This is why it's essential to prepare an emergency bag in case you go on a hike and get lost. As always, please be safe out there, everyone!
