
Hiker Rescued By Helicopter on The Tallest Peak of Mount Whitney
The Inyo County SAR team has rescued an injured hiker via helicopter after he attempted to climb up Mt. Whitney in California and ended up slipping off the mountain and landing on a rock where he injured his ankle about three weeks ago on July 5th.
After this incident, Inyo County Search and Rescue shared a reminder that dangerous alpine conditions still exist during the warmer months: "Backcountry travelers should be wary of the possibility of summer avalanches." Read more here
