Fifteen Hikers Rescued By Juan de Fuca SAR Near Jordan River
About almost two weeks ago, a group of 15 hikers was rescued by the Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue team after they were stranded on the Kluhdak Trail near Jordan River due to snowy conditions that resulted in spending the night until the SAR team came to the rescue.
The group had hiked up, overnighting at Meadow Cabin Saturday then on to Wye Lake before calling for help after determining hiking out Sunday wasn’t possible as a group. Read more here
Great work to the Juan de Fuca SAR teams and other volunteers for rescuing all 15 hikers. This winter will be a busy season for snowboarders, skiers, or even hikers who plan to spend their day in the snowy mountains. Please be mindful to pack an essentials bag and always, check the weather before you go out. Wear appropriate clothes this winter to stay warm and remember to know where to hike from point A to point B. We hope the hikers are recovering well and as always, please be safe out there! Also, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
