Comox Valley SAR Rescued Injured Snowboarder
The Comox Valley Search and Rescue teams rescued a snowboarder of Mount Allan Brooks in the Strathcona Park area after she suffered a hip injury and had to spend the night until SAR teams came to the rescue.
After the injury, the pair tried to return home but realized they wouldn't be able to make it back before dark, so they called in for help. Read more here
After hours of being stranded in the backcountry, we're glad to hear the snowboarder was rescued safely all thanks to the Comox Valley Search and Rescue team. Please be prepared for anything if you plan on traveling up the mountains during the new season such as packing an essentials bag and dressing warm. We hope the snowboarder recovered from her hip injury. As always, please be safe out there!
