COSAR Rescues Person and Dog in Separate Searches
On Sunday night, the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team responded to two calls, with the first rescue with a person who was stranded in the McCullough Lake area and needed to be saved, while in the second rescue, with the help from Vernon Search and Rescue, a dog was rescued after being stranded on a cliff near Oyama Lookout.
“Despite difficult weather and a very skittish pup, the team of 12 successfully brought the dog to safety and reunited her with her owner,” reads a Monday social media post. Read more here
We want to thank COSAR and other volunteers for their amazing work, dedicating their lives to saving others. We hope the individual and dog are doing well, as this is a reminder to all dog owners to make sure your dog is leashed to prevent them from running away. As always, please be safe out there, everyone!
