Thank you to Bakefield SAR and other volunteers for rescuing the elderly hiker and getting him back to safety. This is a reminder for anyone traveling up to the mountains during the snow season is to always travel with a group. Make sure you have a well-thought, detailed plan of your destination. If you want to break from your group and adventure out alone, please let someone in your group know where you are headed. As the weather is getting chilly, please wear appropriate winter gear when traveling to the mountains. We hope he is doing well, and as always, please be safe out there, everyone!
